A quick and delicious stir-fried Mee Tai Mak (silver needle noodles) recipe made with minced pork, cai sim, and natural flavour from AVIA Mushroom and Ikan Bilis powders. Perfect for busy weeknights and toddler-friendly meals, this one-pan dish is savoury, healthy, and ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 200g Mee Tai Mak (silver needle noodles), blanched
- 150g minced pork
- 1 cup chye sim (chopped)
- 1 tsp garlic (minced)
- ½ tsp ginger (minced)
- 1 stalk scallion (chopped, separate white and green parts)
- ½ tsp sesame seeds (toasted)
- 1 tsp Mushroom Powder
- 1 tsp Ikan Bilis Powder
- 1 tbsp coconut aminos
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- White pepper to taste
- Splash of water if needed
Directions
- Blanch noodles:
Soften Mee Tai Mak by blanching in hot water for 30–60 seconds. Drain and set aside. - Sauté aromatics:
In a pan or wok, heat 1 tbsp oil. Add garlic, ginger, sesame seeds and the white part of scallion. Sauté till fragrant. - Cook pork:
Add minced pork. Stir-fry until it’s mostly cooked, breaking it apart. - Add cai sim:
Toss in chopped chye sim and stir-fry for 1–2 mins until slightly wilted. - Season:
Add Mee Tai Mak, mushroom powder, ikan bilis powder, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Stir-fry everything for another 2–3 minutes. Add a splash of water if it’s too dry. - Finish & serve:
Garnish with green scallions. Serve hot!
